Open Living Lab Days 2024 Report
During the period, 25-27.09.2024 the Agricultural university of Plovdiv (AUP) took part in the OpenLiving Lab Days 2024 organized by ENOLL and the West university of Timisoara, Romania. OpenLivingLab Days is the flagship annual event, that brings together living labbers, public officials, corporate leaders, entrepreneurs, academics, and innovators from around the world. The theme of the event was “ LIVING LABS FRONTIERS: Driving systemic change through Soci(et)al Engagement, for real impact” and the breakout sessions were focused on how Living Labs can drive meaningful societal systemic change through active engagement and collaboration.
During the plenary sessions and the workshops important topics as: the Mission soil- achievements, lessons learned, and future oppurtunities for the Living Lab community; Global perspectives on informed Policy and Living Lab impact; The transition Super Living Labs as transition accelerators towards climate neutrality have been discussed.
On 25.09.2024 the Agricultural university of Plovdiv was invited by ENOLL and NATI00NS to participate in the side-event ,,Soil Health Living Labs: Practical Tips and Guidance for Prospective Applicants’’ and to present the Bulgarian Viticulture Soil LL and the project iCOSHELLs. The event enabled the exchane of best practices, and broad discussions on the latest trends and challenges related to the LLs, but most important it created the first connections between the LLs community. The presentation was done by assoc. Prof. Rumyana Georgieva, an AUP team member in the iCOSHELLs project.
The productive event created a basis for collaboration. As a result, the Agricultural university of Plovdiv was officially invited by ENOLL to the Annual SHLLs Community Engagement Event, scheduled for 11th of November in Brussels. The aim of the event is to build up the sense of community and to foster the collaboration between the LLs. During the event the 25 LLs, as well as the SOILL Hub will be presented. A workshop on LLs’ training and needs is also planned. The event is part of the Europen Mission Soil Week sheduled for 12th to 13th of November. Agricultural University of Plovdiv confirmed its participation in the event. During the Europen Mission Soil Week, the representative of the AUP will participate in general plenary sessions, as well as in the co-creation breakout session entitled Soil protection and remediation: strategies for contaminated sites and in the Field visit on remediation of a polluted site at Santerra, Halle.
