The conference will take place from 7 to 10 December 2026 at the Centre for the Dissemination of Research Results (KEDEA) of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, in Thessaloniki, Greece.
Following the success of last year’s edition, which featured around 60 sessions, participation from 17 EU Soil Mission and Horizon Europe projects, and representatives from more than 35 countries, we are now preparing an even more ambitious programme for 2026. Check the website and watch the videos from 2025
This year’s conference will place particular emphasis on several emerging and strategic topics, including:
✅ Carbon Removal and Carbon Farming (CRCF) frameworks and verification
✅ The Soil Monitoring Law and its implementation implications
✅ Integrated soil–water–climate research approaches
✅ Soil biodiversity assessment, indicators, and restoration strategies
✅ Methods for soil degradation reduction
Soil Health Now! 2026 will also be hosted alongside the AI4SoilHealth Final Event, where the project consortium will come together to conclude four years of research and development and present its most significant outputs. This final event will begin on the last day of the conference and extend until 10 December, including a field visit, where you are warmly invited to join us for this concluding part of the programme as well.
General information about the event
Soil Health Now! is an annual 3-day open conference (with an additional field visit component) that connects EU agencies and programmes, researchers, farmer organisations, technology leaders, entrepreneurs, and policy stakeholders. Our guiding principle is urgency: the need to converge on common soil health indicators, interoperable technologies, robust datasets, and shared standards — the sooner, the better.
With nearly €100 million in soil-related research investments from the European Commission, we see a shared responsibility to collaborate closely and deliver open, high-quality, and scalable solutions for soil health monitoring and restoration across Europe.
